Helpful Hint:
How often do I clean the cage?
Every day.  Change the bottom as often as needed daily.  Change the food and water every day.  Frequently wash the perches and items that can be.  Also, sterilize the cage between new birds.

Helpful Hint: Should I cover my bird at night?
The answer is subject to different opinions.  A lot of birds love to be covered at night.  They may feel more secure or feel they have privacy.  There are some birds that freak out at the sight of a cage cover and do not like to be covered at night.  Indoors, when people use their AC,  it does tend to cool down a bit at night and even become a little drafty, so it is suggested that you do cover them at night.

Helpful Hint:
What size cage do I need?
The cage must be suitable for the species, and sufficient in height to allow at least 2 perches at different levels.  It should allow enough room for the bird to freely move around without rubbing its tail feathers, and to open and stretch its wings.  Remember to allow room for toys and extra cups.

Helpful Hint:  Are there dangers in my home?
Yes. Some examples are insecticides, Teflon fumes, cleaning ammonia, cleaning products, smoke inhalation, cooking gas, uncurtained windows, open windows, ceiling fans, open toilets, pots of boiling water, other pets, unsupervised small children, electrical cords that birds can chew on, and certain houseplants.
